Winterland (poem)

Winterland

1

did i tell you

i was cold

in winter everything

dies

ice

has no opponent

my naked feet

slip over old

affections

2

what surprising lack

of depth –

shallow streams directly

from the snowline

brimmed with sharp

bladed

icicles

the frost of our distances

my love

you are frozen

like me

Sorry I’ve not been in the mood to write any flash fiction at the moment, I’m too tired and hungry at the moment, so I thought would do another re-post.

This poem was first posted on my blog in November 2017.

The first part of this poem was originally published in plainwraps.
