The Gate Is Closed
Sophie liked going to the park on the weekends, but on this particular Saturday she found the gates were shut. She walked around the walls until she found a park warden.
“Excuse me!” She called out to him.
“Yes?” he asked while looking down at a checklist.
“Why are the gates locked to the park?” Sophie asked.
“During the night a portal opened and now there are pixies all through the park. Until we’ve done a pixie cleanup, we can’t let members of the public into the park.” he stated.
“Pixies?” She asked, wondering if she misheard him. He looked up at her and opened his mouth wide in shock.
“Sorry did I say pixies? I meant squirrels. We have a squirrel problem, not pixies. Forget I said pixies.”
“Okay…” Sophie said.
“Forget I said pixies.” He said glaring at her.
He walked away. Sophie felt more confused than ever.

Personally, I’d be more worried about squirrels being able to use portal magic, lol.
Great story as always. 🙂 I am confused why the Flash is never in all this supposed Flash Fiction though…

Yes squirrels and portal magic sounds like a dangerous combo.
