Disaster!
The weekend had been an utter disaster. Sheri’s plans had come to naught. Her party on Saturday night was a complete flop, and the woman she hoped would come didn’t even bother turning up. She woke up on Sunday in a foul mood. She reacted angrily to everything. Her flatmate Tamara, shook her head.
“It may mean nothing to you, but last night was abysmal!” Sheri complained.
“So your plans didn’t work out? The problem was your expectations, not what actually happened.” Tamara responded.
“Whatever.” Sheri replied as she stomped out of the house.

The flat mates comment says everything and is brilliant. Left me thinking which is the perfect place to be after reading fiction of any kind 🙂

Reminds me of how everyone said grad school was about lowering your expectations.
They were right.
