Selling Point

“It doesn’t have much of a lawn or a garden.”

“Well these days people are too busy to do gardening, or mowing lawns for that matter. It’s what we in the trade call low maintenance outdoor living.”

“I see. It looks like the fence needs some work.”

“Having a fence that slopes outwards is all the rage at the moment.”

“Oh really?”

“I am a Real Estate Agent, so I know what I’m talking about.”

“I also noticed there seemed to be some water damage inside. Does the roof leak?”

“Well this is an older house, and in past times roofs were built to leak, so whenever there was a heavy rainstorm you could get a nice water flow going to aid you with cleaning the house, since you were stuck inside due to the rain.”

“Does anyone ever fall for this line of bullshit you spin?”

“Sadly, no.”

  1. Had a good chuckle on this. Yea, who’d trust an estate agent.
BTW, chances are, there’s a good sized garden out back. And when built it would have had a small front garden… but the road has eaten into it.

      1. I didn’t check it out, but it was in the grounds of a stately home, so I’m guessing it was originally intended for staff and would have been well provided. And if you’re interested in whose stately home… it was once the home of the Bolyns of Tudor fame.
