The Bridge
“So what’s so special about this bridge?”
“It’s my bridge.”
“Your bridge?”
“Yes some guy sold it to me for $25,000. Gave me the title deed and everything.”
“A title deed for a bridge?”
“Yep. It was all official an’ all.”
“So it’s yours now?”
“Well I believe so, but the City Council disagrees.”
“Oh really?”
“They told me it wasn’t his bridge to sell.”
“That’s a surprise…”
“It was. According to the City Council it belongs to them, and it was never for sale.”
“Fancy that! So what now?”
“Well as far as I’m concerned it’s my bridge. I paid for it, so I’m staying here. They can try and drag me away if they want.”
“Why do you need a bridge anyway?”
“Well I am a troll, and trolls need a bridge to live under. It’s traditional.”

Author’s note: Shortly WordPress will be bringing in their new editor for us to write our posts with. I’m not really hearing anything good about this new editor at the moment, and to be honest I’m not happy about it. I am happy with what we’re using now and I don’t know why they are insisting on changing it. I am considering my future with this site.
Did you know you can see my blog posts on my Joanne the Geek Facebook page.

I’m finding the new ‘Block’ editor not that bad. It’s a bit slow, which hampers the thought process a bit, but other than that it seems fine. Give it a try?

Brilliant! I tried the new editor and I don’t like it at all. Would be nice if they changed their minds about switching it.

Yes it would be.

I love your take on this, Joanne.
As to the new WP Editor, if I’ve read it right, the *Classic* will still be available from the WP Admin side menu. I’m hoping. If you haven’t already found it, now might be a good time. From *My Home* scroll to the bottom. Last item, WP Admin.

Go find it. And let’s hope I haven’t read it wrong. Though I did use the new editor for my new Home Page, and didn’t find it that excruciating to you, I do prefer the Classic

Nice story. Trolls don’t live under bridges anymore though. They live on the internet. 😀

I chuckled in the end.
I find the block editor with multiple glitches. I’ve decided against it and I’m sticking with Classic editor.

What a fabulous take on the prompt, Jo!
Like you, I hear nothing good about the new bock editor. It has caused mild-mannered people to curse and swear.
I never even used the “easy” editor, preferring to use the classic “add new post” from the admin side, like Crispibna mentioned. You never go out of style with the classic 😉

Hope that troll likes living in the water.

Maybe it’s an aquatic troll?

Maybe. That would make sense with fire resistance, for sure.
