Coming Back
Cindy jumped through the portal. To her surprise, it wasn’t the familiar buildings of her own farm that she saw when she returned, but someone else’s. She had no idea where she was. For all she knew she could be on the other side of the world. Nor did she have any idea how long she had been in Faerie. She knew Jess would be worried: she imagined her standing in the kitchen watching through the windows wondering where she had got to. One thing Cindy was certain of: she had never seen these buildings before anywhere near her own farm.
“Hello!” she called out. “Is there anyone here?” The buildings remained silent. She seriously considered going back through the portal. The feeling that things had gone terribly wrong was growing in her. Just then, she heard a door creak slowly open….

At the moment I am between homes and I’m recovering from a bout of food poisoning. Until things get a bit better in my life, don’t expect any longer narratives from me. I’ll continue doing the prompts I take part in, like this one, but that’s the best I can do right now.

Ugh. Hang in there *hug* Glad I got a giggle out of you with the last reply with everything going on.
The sad thing is poor Cindy forgot time passes differently in the Fae realms…

The only trouble with your flash fiction is it leaves us wanting more, and at least half of them could be turned into full blown novels.
You could easily turn Jess and Cindy’s farm and Fae adventures into a short series of romance novels with an adventure undercurrent.
First thing’s first though; get things back to normal. Then you can worry about about becoming the next great novelist. 🙂

You should do it (when you’re feeling better and everything). And I’m not just saying that because you’re one of my favorite WP people. 😀
