Unknown Destination (flash fiction)

Unknown Destination

She woke me early in the morning with a kiss. Her arms were around me and her lips softly kissed my neck.

“Morning sleepy girl!” she said when I finally opened my eyes.

“Didn’t think I’d see you until later.” I replied.

“Well I’ve been thinking. You know how we’ve got the next few days off? I thought we could go on a trip.” she announced.

“Like today?”

“Yep just pack a bag with enough stuff for a few days and then catch a bus. I’ve already got tickets!” she revealed as she brandished a couple of tickets in her hands.

“Where are we going?” I asked.

“That’s a secret!”

So only a couple of hours later there I was in a bus with her. Once it started getting dark, I realised I was just enjoying spending this time with her as we traveled into an unknown future together.

I had another idea which was a lot darker, which I may still write…

    1. Maybe it might turn out like a certain movie (I can’t remember the title) where a woman takes her girlfriend to her families holiday home with the express intention of murdering her (because she’s actually a psychopath).

      1. What Keeps You Alive is the film I was thinking of. I’m not saying my flash fiction is going to head the way, but if you’re imagining it going in a dark direction, that’s one way it could always go…
