Your Heather (poem)

Your Heather

you have

your own

Heather

so I’m

cut out

like some

tumour

left to face

my despair

alone

a dweller

in the dark

hiding from

your light

This was written with the prompt Heather provided by Sammi Cox’s Weekend Writing Prompt #177.

I’ve used a contemporary meaning of Heather in the poem – “A Heather is basically the person your crush is in love with. They might go out and “find a Heather,” and it sucks because that person is not you.” Read more about it here: What’s a Heather?
