Learning to Walk
Briana selected the pair of red stilettos and began putting them on in store.
“Excuse me, um, miss, are you sure want to try those on?” the store assistant asked frowning at her.
“Yes I have to learn how to walk in heels at some point.” Briana replied.
She stood up and tried to take a step. She swayed, and eventually began to topple over, the store assistant managing to break her fall.
“Again, are you really sure you wouldn’t prefer some flats?”
“A girl’s gotta try.” Briana responded as she stood up again and took one more step.

I never did like heels on a woman… deforms the calf…

I just wear sneakers. I did have some high heel boots, but they were hard on my ankles.

When I was a teenager, guys wore platform shoes. I wore them to the prom and nearly killed myself…

Why Briana, why? Why do you have to learn to walk in heels?

Most trans women I know have tried to learn how to walk in heels.

Oh.
Ok. But Briana, those are difficult and uncomfortable shoes you choose. (But if they make you feel pretty, go for it and good luck)

Love it, Joanne
And I think back… I used to go clubbing in four & half inch stilettos, dance all night, and (having drunk my taxi fare) then walk the five miles home… all in those shoes. And they were dead-handy when I dated a guy who was 6’6″ (I’m only 5’4″) π π π

I’m 5’6″ I think. I guess heels were never much a priority when most of my partners have been around my height…

I tended to go for tall guys. Until it came to the procreation of children. Then I chose smaller. Hence my daughters barely hit the 5′ mark

Darn heels kill my back! My hubby is 6 ft. 7 in. I like tall men. LOL! In the military we used to say, wear ’em if you got ’em. Oh, wait… that way smoke ’em if you got them. LOL! β€

There is something alluring about the accomplishment of mastering heels, and for those who see it as a right of passage, yup, gotta take that first step. Merry Christmas! I bought you a Yuletide Coffee!

I don’t actually the first time I stepped out in a pair of high heels. I know I loved them though. π
