Paperwork (flash fiction)


“You will need to fill out the requisite forms.” He said as he placed a large stack of papers in front of me.

“Of course.” I replied.

“You must really love this place.”

“Yes I never want to leave.” I agreed.

“Well once you fill everything out, you won’t ever have to. We’ll just check on how you’re doing from time to time.”


I loved this house so much I wanted to stay, even after I had died. I was now going to haunt it forever. I just never figured the afterlife would have so much paperwork…
