Due to my current financial issues I haven’t bought any eggs for three weeks now (among other things). Recently I felt like making some chocolate chip cookies, but all the recipes I knew included eggs in them. Here is a recipe I found that doesn’t use eggs. It’s a fairly easy one.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
1/2 cup (4.4 oz) butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons golden syrup
1 + 1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup chocolate chips
a few drops vanilla essence
Method
1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit)
2. In a bowl cream butter and sugar then beat in golden syrup. Sift in flour and baking powder gradually then add vanilla essence. Lastly, add in the chocolate chips and mix well.
3. Roll into balls and place on greased baking tray, or one lined with baking paper. Flatten the balls with a fork.
4. Bake around nine minutes or until golden brown. Once cookies are ready, leave for a few minutes on the tray and move once they’re firm to a rack for cooling.
Enjoy!
The above photo was a half batch of them as I don’t currently own a baking tray….
