Don’t Be Alarmed
I was browsing in the store, when one of the mannequins moved. I thought I was going crazy, but then it turned towards me.
“Don’t be alarmed. We’re here in peace.” It said. All of a sudden all the other mannequins in the store began to move. There were cries of shock from other shoppers. Then they opened fire on everyone.
“You said you were here in peace!” It turned to me again.
“There will be perfect peace, once you are all dead.” It shot me.

There’s an early Doctor Who story that has mannequins coming to life and shooting people. Personally I’ve never felt comfortable around mannequins. I keep thinking they’ll suddenly move.
This was written with the prompt mannequin provided by Sammi Cox’s Weekend Writing Prompt #250.

I’m a little leery of mannequins too and my story was in a similar vein to yours. The Autons, they were creepy Doctor Who aliens.
