I’d Rather Be…

“I’d rather be a hammer than a snail. No wait, that isn’t right.”

“Try again.” She suggested. She looked at me expectantly.

“I’d rather be a walrus than a carpenter. I am the walrus! Goo goo g’joob!” She frowned while writing in her notepad.

“That’s all we have time for today. Same time next week?”

“Sure.” I replied. I stood up and left the room.

“Why do you humour her like that?” He asked me as we walked down the corridor.

“Believing she’s a therapist is helping with her recovery. A month ago, she wasn’t even talking. It’s progress.”
